1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information Walspa ("Walspa," "we," "us," or "our") collects through the Walspa mobile application (the "Platform"), how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. By creating an account, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.

2. Information You Provide to Us

When you create an account, we collect the email address or phone number you sign up with, a password (stored in hashed form, never in plain text), your role (Salon or Tech), and — depending on your role — your salon name, years of experience, and specialties. If you choose to, you may also provide: a profile photo, portfolio photos, a photo of your nail license, and your remaining contact method (email or phone) added later from your Profile. Salons may similarly provide a photo of their business license. License photos are used for the internal verification review described in our Terms of Service, and are otherwise shown to other users only as a "Verified" badge, never as the photo itself — except that once a shift is confirmed between a specific Salon and Tech, either party may separately choose to voluntarily share their own license photo directly with that one confirmed counterparty, for that shift only, as described in Section 8 of our Terms of Service. That sharing is opt-in, requires an explicit confirmation step, and can be turned off again at any time by the person who shared it. Salons also provide shift details such as pay, timing, skill required, and location when posting a shift.

3. Information Collected Automatically

With your device permission, we collect your approximate device location to sort shifts by distance and to alert you about nearby shifts matching your specialties. We also collect basic usage information needed to operate the app, such as which shifts you view, claim, or complete, ratings and reviews you give or receive, and messages you send through in-app chat. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or analytics SDKs that sell your data.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to: operate your account and let you sign in; connect Salons and Techs for shift coverage; show distance-sorted and nearby-match results; send you account, verification, chat, and shift-status notifications; display ratings, reviews, and profile information to other users as intended by the Platform’s core function; maintain the security of the Platform; and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your personal information to train third-party AI models, and we do not sell your personal information to data brokers.

5. How Information Is Shared

Your profile information (such as your display name, ratings, specialties, and any portfolio or salon photos you upload) is visible to other users as part of using the Platform — for example, a Salon can see a Tech’s profile before selecting them for a shift, and a Tech can see a Salon’s name and location. License photos are handled differently and more narrowly, as described in Section 2: visible to Walspa for internal review, shown to other users only as a "Verified" badge, and only ever shown as the actual photo if the license owner voluntarily opts in to share it with one specific confirmed counterparty after a shift is confirmed. We share information with service providers who help us operate the Platform (such as cloud hosting and notification delivery) only to the extent needed to provide the service, and we require them to protect it. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Walspa or our users. We do not sell your personal information for money or other valuable consideration, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

6. Data Storage and Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time as described in Section 9; some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business records, such as a record of a completed shift relevant to a payment dispute.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential and for using a strong, unique password.

8. Your Choices

You can review and update your profile information, including your email, phone number, and photos, at any time from your Profile page. You can withdraw location permission or disable push notifications at any time in your device settings; doing so may limit features like distance sorting or nearby-shift alerts. Some account-security messages, such as a sign-up verification code, are required to use the Platform and cannot be disabled.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: request access to the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your personal information; request a copy of your information in a portable format; and object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly from your Profile page, or by contacting us at privacy@walspa.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you; request deletion of your personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, so there is nothing to opt out of); limit the use of sensitive personal information; and not be denied service for exercising these rights. In the preceding 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Sections 2–3 of this Policy, for the business purposes described in Section 4, and have not sold or shared that information. California residents may submit a verifiable consumer request to privacy@walspa.com.

11. Other State Privacy Laws

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of certain processing such as targeted advertising or profiling used for decisions with legal effect. Walspa does not engage in targeted third-party advertising or automated profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Requests under any of these laws can be submitted to privacy@walspa.com; we will respond within the time required by the applicable law and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will delete it.

13. International Users

The Platform is currently intended for use within the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information will be processed and stored in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "last updated" date, and where required by law we will provide additional notice. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
